COLLECTION V

The mixed media artwork in Collection V is dedicated to the human rights issues facing the world as witnessed through the Arab Spring and the Occupy Movements, highlighting the economic disparity between the “haves” and the “have-nots”.  The artwork is from Exhibition *Game II and is expressed through a giant teeter-totter + chair installation, photography, painting, and miniature bronze sculptures. The teeter-totter metaphor used in this Exhibition is reminiscent of the childhood game of balance that was ever more fun when the players’ weight was distributed evenly.

The Exhibition was shown at Leila Heller Gallery, NYC (2013); the Tang Museum in Saratoga Springs, NY (2014); MA College of Liberal Arts, North Adams, MA (2014); Greater Reston Arts Center, Reston, VA (2016)  *Game II was created in collaboration with daughter Julia Mandle.
